The Decanter Asia Wine Awards is a new sister competition to the Decanter World Wine Awards, launched in 2012 to recognize wines aimed specifically at the Asian market.
22-24 October 2012, Tbilisi - Exhibition Center ExpoGeorgia held 5th exhibition of Wine and Alcoholic Beverages. The expo also hosted wine competition where 22 Georgian and international wine producing companies presented their wines. Panel of jury comprised of international and local wine experts named medal winning wines and companies. Two wines produced by Tbilvino were among the winning wines.

On September 15th, 2012 non-governmental organization Rotary Club of Almaty with the support of Georgian Embassy in Kazakhstan and one of the sponsor companies Tbilvino organized a grape harvesting event in Almaty. Everyone who loves Georgia, its traditions and culture had an opportunity mark this event.
September 11-14, 2012 – Tbilvino hosted a delegation from its partner company Vinfort, Ukraine, The purpose of the visit was to introduce more closely the history of the winery, taste wines and tour Capital of Georgia, Tbilisi and visit Mtskheta ancient capital of Georgia and Kakheti, main grape growing region in Georgia.
Ukrainian guests had an opportunity to experience first-hand the grape processing activities in Tbilvino’s newly opened grape primary processing plant in town of Kvareli, Kakheti region.
September 3, 2012 – Tbilvino, Georgia’s largest winemaking company, commenced harvest in the newly established Grape Primary Processing plant in town of Kvareli, Kakheti region.

8-12 June 2012 – Georgian National Investment Agency (GNIA) organized Georgian Wine tasting evenings in Hong Kong and Seoul.
The wine-tasting event in Hong Kong was opened by Master of Wine Debra Meiburg who is considered as the most influential wine journalist in Hong Kong. Ms. Meiburg gave brief introduction on the long traditions of wine-making in Georgia and presented Georgian wineries and their products. Wine importer, distributors and wine journalists were among the invited guest. Tbilvino showcased 4 different wines from the portfolio.

9-11 May, 2012 – Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia organized "Georgian Wine Days" in Lithuania and Latvia in an effort to raise awareness of Georgian wines. The delegation was headed by the deputy Minister of Agriculture Ia Janashia.
May 10, 2012 Tbilisi – Wine History Fund organized 4th Georgian National Wine Competition. The purpose of the competition was to boost the quality of Georgian wine and raise awareness of Georgian wine culture and wine consumption.
Up to 30 Georgian wine companies presented their produce at the competition. Jury committee composed of Georgian and international wine experts evaluated the wines and revealed the best of Georgian wine producers and wines.

April 19, 2012, Tbilisi - Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia and National Wine Agency hosted Polish and Czech journalists, publishers and wine experts in Tbilisi. The purpose of the program was to familiarize invited guests with the traditions of Georgian wine-making. The visitors also had a chance to visit wineries and taste the wines.
Tbilvino had an opportunity to organize a brief presentation of the winery and conduct a tasting.
Tbilisi, April 4 2012 – Jury panel consisted of 200 experts nominated Tbilvino as a Golden Brand 2011 winner. This is the fourth time Tbilvino receives this prestigious title. Awards were granted to the company in 2006, 2009 and 2010.
Golden Brand Award Ceremony has been conducted annually since 2006. It is deemed to be the most prestigious and influential business award in Georgia. It is often called as Georgian Business Oscar.

On October 4, 2011 International Finance Corporation (IFC), provided a $1.5 million loan to Tbilvino to establish wine primary plant in Kvareli district of Kakheti region.
IFC’s credit line is a part of Tbilvino’s $3 million investment program aimed to progress the company development. The establishment of the primary plant is designated to augment Tbilvino’s production capacity to satisfy the increased demand on Tbilvino’s wines on export markets, enhance product quality, and boost competitiveness both on local and international markets.
On December 22, 2011 the official results of Terravino Alcoholic Beverage Contest were announced on the gala dinner in Jerusalem, Israel where Tbilvino’s Tsinandali white dry wine vintage 2009 was awarded with Silver medal.
Terravino 2011 is one of the world-scale contests which takes place annually in Jerusalem, Israel under the patronage of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (O.I.V). The beverage degustation process in the contest is conducted by the group of experienced Sommeliers under the leadership of Professor Raoul Castelani.
Tbilvino’s Saperavi red dry wine, vintage 2010 was awarded with Silver medal at International Wine Challenge Catavinum 2011 (IWCC) held in December in Spain.
International wine competitions such as IWCC 2011 facilitate the information flow between consumers and wine professionals on the quality of the winning wines. It serves as a significant orientation for consumers in their purchase decision and very valuable tool for the wine connoisseurs, importers and distributors worldwide as it provides essential international references on wines.
The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition took place under the aegis of HKTDC in November 2011, which is the largest and prestigious wine and spirits exhibition in the region. The competition is specifically created with the consideration of Asian consumers palate peculiarities.
2-4, November, 2011 - the International Exhibition Centre of Kiev hosted international specialized wine exhibition “WinExpo Ukraine”. Tbilivino was offered an opportunity to participate in the expo along with other Georgian wine making companies. The expo was made through the support of Vine and Wine Department “Samtrest”.

On June 3, 2011, parallel to the 4th International Wine and Spirits Fair – WinExpo 2011, the 3rd Georgia International Wine Award took place. The event was organized by Exhibition Center ExpoGeorgia Co. It was the first competition in Georgia that was held under the patronage of International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and was carried in accordance with the OIV recommended principles and standards- the results were revealed due to the blind tastings.

Krakow, Poland– hosted 8th professional wine-focused International Trade Fair ENOEXPO in Targi w Krakowie Exhibition Center between 17-19 November, 2010.
